Learn More About the History of MINI

For over 50 years, the MINI brand grew to include many features: available all-wheel drive, two-seaters, and convertible models. Around the world, the MINI phenomenon has been reborn. Proof that an almost limitless range of customization, incredibly stable handling, and an undeniable personality are truly timeless qualities.

The History of MINI

Sir Leonard Lord of the Morris Company issued Alec Issigonis with a challenge. He wanted him to create a small, fuel-efficient car that could hold four adults comfortable, but was also affordable. And with this goal in mind, Issigonis was able to build a couple of historic innovations. When the first MINI model was introduced in 1959, the public was a little baffled. Soon after, people started to realize that MINI was much more than a car, it helped influence the beginning of the 1960s culture.

It’s clear to see why many MINI owners are happy with their vehicle purchase. These compact convertibles, roadsters, and hardtops are known for retaining their value over the long haul. From the moment you close the door on a MINI vehicle, it is the moment you experience its solid precision.

Now that you know more about the brand as a whole, we would like to invite you down to MINI of Knoxville for a test drive.
